Tottenham To Bid For Jan Oblak

As they search for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris, Tottenham are in a strong position to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. According to reports, Spurs are willing to spend close to $30 million to sign the goalkeeper, who could take over for the 36-year-old Lloris at the conclusion of this season. Underfire This season, Lloris made a mistake against North London rivals Arsenal, but his performance has declined recently. Most notably, his inability to save a penalty in the World Cup Final against Argentina has hurt his reputation. Lloris has won the World Cup before with France, but in Qatar, he was unable to add a second medal.

As one of the best shot stoppers in the world, Slovenian international Jan Oblak, 30, will face intense pressure from Atleti to remain where he is. Oblak has previously expressed a desire to finish his career in England, but the Premier League’s interest is certain to lure him.

Tottenham To Bid For Jan Oblak

In their search for the ideal replacement for current first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, Tottenham Hotspur has made progress.

Over the course of a ten-year relationship with Spurs, Lloris has been a valuable member of the team. He has 440 club appearances under his belt and has been their captain since 2015. But he hasn’t maintained the same level of form that he did in the past.

The Frenchman, who recently retired from international duty, won’t hold the position of Tottenham’s starting goalkeeper for much longer at age 36. Spurs may therefore be anticipating a chance to significantly improve Lloris.

The cost of Oblak would be the issue, though. The Slovenia international, according to The Evening Standard, would be significantly more expensive than Raya. Additionally, he is a little older than the Spaniard.

The length of Oblak’s contract at Atletico, however, serves as a guide to how long he might stay at the top level. Spurs are, therefore, absolutely correct to be considering him.
