Player Of The Month André Ayew August 2015
Adelakun continued, We could understand why Ayew got the award; congratulations to both him and the voters. He just made his Premier League debut against reigning champions Chelsea and played well throughout the month. He came in and got right to work.
Riyad Mahrez pushed him close, and he was more than deserving of it as well. Mahrez, a budget acquisition by Leicester for for about £500,000, has had an excellent 2015 and was the league’s top scorer in August.
But I believe that in deciding the victor this month, people took into consideration the calibre of Ayew’s opponents.
Moreover, the League’s August Player of the Month award went to Andre Ayew. He will receive his honour in the upcoming days.
After being selected as August’s Player of the Month, Andre Ayew completed a fairytale start to life in the Barclays Premier League.
The Ghanaian winger, who joined the Swans this summer on a free transfer from Marseille, scored three goals in his first four games to help the team to an outstanding start.
Ayew prevailed over rivals David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov both from Manchester City, Chris Smalling from Manchester United, and Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City to win the season’s first honour.
Gylfi Sigurdsson, an Icelandic midfielder, won the award in March 2012 while on loan at the Liberty, making the 25 year old the first Swans player to do so since.
Despite leading his team to an undefeated start to the season, Garry Monk was not chosen as Manager of the Month. After his team won all four games, Manuel Pellegrini of Manchester City accepted the honour. Andre has our sincere congratulations on receiving his award from everyone at Swansea City.
