With the Arsenal striker becoming France’s 16th recipient of the Barclays Premier League player of the month award. The French are now officially the league’s most successful foreign nationality.
Giroud scored five goals in Arsenal’s four straight league victories last month. Helping Arsene Wenger’s team gain all 12 available points and win the trophy for March.

And in doing so, he join a lengthy list of his countrymen who have been name the best player in the English top division for a given month. Including Nicolas Anelka, Eric Cantona, and Thierry Henry. Only the native English on home soil are more successful countries in terms of player of the month accolades than Giroud’s country. Which now surpasses Holland.
It can be attribute in large part to Giroud’s team, Arsenal. Henry, Anelka, Emmanuel Petit, Sylvain Wiltord, Robert Pires. Samir Nasri have all won it while in north London, giving them ten French winners in all.

Henry, a former Arsenal striker, is the top Frenchman with four awards. Coming in second to Steven Gerrard on six, Wayne Rooney, and Alan Shearer (each with five). He is seated in good company, tye with Cristiano Ronaldo, Dennis Bergkamp, Frank Lampard, and Paul Scholes.
After receiving the March award, Giroud told Arsenal’s official website. “I’m incredibly thrilled with it.” Since it’s a team sport and I couldn’t have done it alone. I’d like to thank my teammates and the crowd.
It’s an enormous honour to have been chosen as Player of the Month. particularly because we wanted to recover from the Champions League setback.
We did that, and we’ve respond very forcefully. We all want to finish strong, and this prize will boost my self assurance going into the upcoming matches.
Giroud scored a goal every 72 minutes on average in March. He will continue to produce at a high level for the French team against England.

Players from Spain, Ireland, Wales, Portugal, Argentina, and Nigeria have also performed well, although other nations outside England and Holland only have, at most, half as many players as France.
You only need to look at their opponents in Europe, Germany, to see how dominant they are. Only one of them has won, and that was Jurgen Klinsmann in 1994.
